Master Sarait Rhallan

Biography

Early Life
Beginings and Endings

Sarait was born at Culu Memorial Centre on the planet of Alpheridies in 5 BTC. Her mother, Esmara Rhallan had been an initiate there in her youth but had not been taken on as a padawan. Left with a choice between serving in the Jedi Service Corps or leaving the order altogether, she chose the latter and eventually took on work within the Luka Sene. It was there she met Sarro Aidar, a Sene Seeker, whom she would eventually marry. Regrettably Sarro was killed in the line of duty and left behind a pregnant and devastated Esmara.Over the course of her pregnancy Esmara realised her daughter, like her father, would have a strong connection to the force which left her with a decision to make. Angry with the Luka Sene over the loss of her husband she decided to leave her daughter to the Jedi order where her oldest and closest friend, Tielle Fretalia, remained. Unfortunately the loss of her husband and her separation from her child proved too much for the grieving woman to bear and within a year of Sarait’s birth she too had rejoined the force.Sarait was thus born and raised at the Academy knowing no other life. Despite this sheltered upbringing, or perhaps because of it, she had an insatiable curiosity about the universe outside the Academy walls. She studied the usual topics all young jedi do, but put particular emphasis on Diplomatic Relations, Political Science, and Linguistics.

Life as a PadawanThere comes a point when you have to realise that you'll never be good enough for some people.

Sarait became a padawan in the years well before the war with Zakuul, a few years before the Treaty of Coruscant broke down and the war between the Republic and the Empire recommenced. Sarait spent most of that time with her Master moving among various worlds on her master’s diplomatic missions.Sarait's Master, Master Masius Romak, was a well known and respected jedi diplomat. He was not a young man at the time of her trials and after having trained several padawans throughout his life had not been at all inclined to take on a new one. Despite his advanced years, the council at Culu Memorial recalled him to Alpheridies for the initiate trials, to what would be Sarait’s third, and likely last opportunity to earn a place as a padawan.Sarait’s minimal saber skills and general timidity had failed to attract a Master; as such, Tielle Fretalia pulled strings to ensure Romak would be present knowing of the girl’s interest in Diplomacy.Master Romak, looking for an ‘easy’ padawan had already narrowed his options down to Sarait and two of her peers even before arriving, he ultimately chose Sarait. Regrettably, between his immensely busy schedule and general disinterest in teaching and training a new padawan, Sarait’s life with him was strictly controlled. He expected perfection and independence from his padawan, the smallest errors or slips in her comportment were punished. She was frequently left to self study, bordering on neglect, when not shadowing her master or studying his limited selection of approved materials with him.Sarait’s relationship with her Master was, consequently, a strained one, to say the least. Master Romak expected a great deal from Sarait, all while making it clear to her she didn't measure up to his standards. This branded the young padawan with a deeply rooted sense of inferiority and insecurity. After Zakuul attacked, she and her Master returned to Alpheridies where they spent the first year of the war. Once the Republic had been soundly beaten, she and her Master returned to serving in diplomacy and humanitarian efforts largely on Coruscant and Alderaan but had assignments on other worlds as well. She was eventually knighted and almost immediately thereafter she was told she was to be sent to Tatooine, to serve with a group called the Aurora Core. Sarait was pleased to have the opportunity to finally escape her Master's shadow.

The Aurora Core
A Short Knighthood and a Steep Learning Curve

Sarait’s time as a padawan had left its mark on her, she came to the Aurora Core a shy and self-abasing young knight. However, once free from the controlling and repressive influence of her master, her confidence grew and she started to shed her meekness, growing into the jedi she was meant to be. She eventually took a padawan, Yny Rhi, and through teaching him continued to grow.In time, the Aurora council, impressed by her knowledge, skill, and leadership abilities, granted her the rank of Master in 23 ATC. Raised to the rank far too young, Sarait was forced to learn quickly and to adapt to her rapidly growing responsibilities. When the insecurities of her youth threatened to cripple the young master with the weight and expectations of the rank, she was saved by fellow jedi, Master Tyrusso Wyron. Master Wyron had also been raised to the rank too young and understood all too well what a difficult position it was to be in and so he took the younger jedi under his wing and became her mentor.Sarait served the Aurora Core in many facets, first as a master and diplomat among it’s Jedi members, then later as a member of the Core’s internal Council. She eventually became the second in command to the core’s interim leader, her mentor, Master Tyrusso Wyron. Through all this Sarait continued to serve the Culu Memorial Centre in a part time capacity via their Republic Diplomatic Delegation on Coruscant. When she received news of her Master’s passing, she was officially offered his position with the delegation, a position she ultimately declined. She did however agree to assist her Master’s replacement, Master Tavris Sourra. She became fast friends with Master Sourra and continues to work with and assist him where her time permits. After her Master’s death, Sarait was given a collection of recordings left to her by Masius Romak. When she listened to the logs, she learned many things she had not known about her time as a padawan and about Master Romak himself. While the revelations were difficult to hear, she learned that, in his own way, Romak had in fact been quite proud of her. That knowledge, along with the support of her mentor and her padawan, helped Sarait to make peace with her past leaving her a stronger woman and a better jedi.

The Force Bond
Strength in Unity

During the course of an investigation into a series of mysterious disappearances of Jedi Knights and Masters, both Sarait and Tyrusso were captured and mind controlled by a powerful Sith Artefact. The two were the last standing in the confrontation when the Aurora Core found the errant faction Zakuulan Scions & Knights responsible for the disappearances. The Zakuulans were acting under the influence of the ancient sith Darth Nalar, who had trapped his own spirit in a holocron of his making. When the artefact, a mass mind control device, was destroyed, it acted as a catalyst and amplifier to a force bond already forming between the masters. The result was an unusually powerful force bond the two have been forced to adapt to, and learn to live with. While the bond is not secret, both Masters try not to draw attention to it for two primary reasons. The most important being that the bond could be used against one or the other. The second being the unfortunate, and incorrect, assumptions that are sometimes made about the nature of their relationship.

The Cerulean Accord and Beyond
Press forward. Do not stop, do not linger in your journey, but strive for the mark set before you.*

Sarait is now involved in a number of different projects and initiatives, though her primary work is with The Cerulean Accord, a small jedi led Republic Taskforce spearheaded by herself and Master Wyron. The Accord works with the Republic to handle investigations involving Sith artifice, sorcery, or alchemy, and any situations in which jedi expertise could be particularly valuable. The Cerulean Accord has already successfully stopped a pair of sith sibilings, the Azronovias, from reclaiming dangerous, ancient Sith Artefacts discovered on the Moon C789 of the third planet of Er’kit System and subverted the dangerous intentions of their master, Darth Zayat. The Cerulean Accord is at present working against two distinct Sith threats, Lord Valandrea, a Sephi and former jedi with designs against both the sith and the jedi order. The second is the Xervan brothers who came into possession of a dangerous trio of Jal Shay artefacts formerly belonging to the Sith grandfather of one of the Accord's padawans.Sarait is also involved in various other endeavours including her work with the Republic Diplomatic Corps, the Project Panacea team, and less directly in the Great Library Project. She also continues to serve the Culu Memorial Centre where time permits.Sarait's Padawan, Yny Rhi, was knighted in 26 ATC. Approximately a year later she took on the L'ara Lhey as her new Padawan Learner.
